This needle has a medium tip that is a slightly more rounded than a universal needle and passes between the fabric threads instead of piercing them. Ball-point needles ensure more even stitches on coarse and heavy knits and wont damage spandex, interlocks and other knits that stretch and give.
The shank of the needle secured by the needle clamp screw is slightly smaller than universal needles. This brings the scarf in the needle, just above the eye, slightly closer to the sewing machine hook point. Thus helping to elliminate skipped stitches.
Size 11 – For Light Weight Fabrics
Size 14 – For Medium Weight Fabric
Size 16 – For Heavier Weight Fabrics
